CLIVE'S RULES OF THE ROAD

  1. Give way to vehicles already on the roundabout! (Your vehicle is the ball. Theirs is also the ball.)
  2. Six strokes, then pick up and write 7. No shame in it at all! (I did it on hole 11 on opening day.)
  3. After 18 your vehicle comes home down the drainpipe — listen for the rumble!
  4. Hole 13 is closed for resurfacing. So sorry about that one! Nearly there!

BEST ROUNDS THIS SUMMER!

THE COURSE — HOW TO GET ROUND!

CAR PARK (pay & display — tell them you're golfing!) KIOSK Ball return — a genuine68mm drainpipe! (rumbles!) WINDMILL! Rescued from a skip —and it still goes round! cones (borrowed — mind them!) not to scale (the junctions ARE to scale — 1:250, near enough!)

Hello and welcome! Every hole on this course is a real junction from somewhere in the world, measured off the plans wherever I could get them and off photographs where I couldn't (the Étoile took me a whole winter!). Start at the kiosk, work along the car park side to the Étoile, then back along the road side — Spaghetti Junction is the tall one, you can't miss it. Hole 18 is our very own H6/V7, and if you stand on the tee you can hear the real one humming away behind the hedge. Lovely!
