Sheet 2
Delivery & Siting Conditions
1. Delivery is by 7.5-tonne flatbed carrying eight units per journey. The journey charge at item 12 is per journey and is not divisible. A ninth unit is a second journey and is charged as one.
2. All units are sited level to within two degrees. Where the ground falls away we will pack or reposition; we will not site out of level.
3. Units are strapped in pairs or ballasted at item 10 as a condition of hire and not at the customer's option. An unballasted unit will go over in a forty mile-per-hour gust.
4. Units will not be sited in a row facing the marquee entrance, nor downwind of the catering, and we will position on arrival accordingly. This is the arrangement most often asked for and we do not do it.
5. A loaded vacuum tanker weighs eighteen tonnes. Your gateway measures nine feet six inches to the posts and our tanker requires ten feet. Item 13 covers removal and reinstatement of one gatepost. Ground bearing on stubble after rain is the customer's risk and a tanker recovery is charged at cost.
6. Attendance. This quotation is priced against the figure given above and no other. We would remind you that on your 1991 booking the figure supplied was 400 and the gate was 1,140, and the units were serviced twice on the Saturday at our own cost and not at yours. Please confirm the figure in writing with your acceptance.
Confirmed by the customer (tick as applicable)
Item 3 positions — drag to site. Hose 25 m from standing.
By the Customer
You are to provide, at no cost to us and available from 0730 hours on Thursday: a hard or hardcore approach from the highway to the standing shown; one man to meet the flatbed and confirm positions; clear access to all units at each service visit, the driver will not move vehicles or trestles; and a written attendance figure. Where you have not confirmed a mains supply, item 7 is quoted as self-contained with a 25-gallon fresh tank, and the fresh tank on a self-contained wash unit empties considerably sooner than customers expect it to.
We would draw your attention to the fact that no unit off this yard has been left unserviced on a three-day booking since we took delivery of the second tanker in March 1992.
Information Still Required
Please confirm the following by return, as our quantities above are assumptions and an assumption you have not corrected is an assumption you have accepted:
1. Expected attendance per day — enter figure on the rule on sheet 1. Not given on the telephone.
2. Whether the hospitality marquee is licensed. We have assumed not licensed.
3. Whether there is a standpipe within a hose run of the wash position. We have assumed none.
4. Whether a tanker may stand on hard ground inside the gate on all three mornings. We have assumed not confirmed.
We trust the above meets with your requirements and look forward to your instructions. Should you wish to proceed, please complete and return the slip below. Our carrier collects from this office at 1730 hours.
Yours faithfully,
for BRAYFIELD & NUNN (SITE SERVICES) LIMITED
