Borage volunteered in the cracks beside the path — bees know it by heart now, drifting to the blue stars before the squash blossoms even open. Started counting them at breakfast and lost track around forty.

Saving seed from the Cherokee Purple this year if any fruit sets clean. Want to send a packet to Doris in Eugene by October — she sent me the Mortgage Lifter starts in '94, owe her something good back.
