Five Days Beneath the Brown Tent An Assembly of Lecture, Music, & Right Thinking

Clearwater, Kansas
Tent erected on the Wickham pasture, two blocks east of the depot · season ticket $2.25 · single program 35¢ · children under twelve admitted free with grown-up
The brown Chautauqua tent rising over Kansas prairie at dusk, lanterns lit, families approaching with folding chairs.

Neighbors and friends — the Brown Tent comes to our town this summer. The same circuit that played Topeka, Hutchinson, and Salina has pitched its canvas in the Wickham pasture, and for five evenings and five afternoons the finest speakers, musicians, and teachers of the middle states will stand before us.

This is not a small thing. A working farmer's child in Clearwater may hear, this week, what a college student in Boston pays tuition for. Bring your supper. Bring your questions. Bring everyone you know.
