Your Weekly Marketing Worksheet

Form R-403 · Revised April 1944 · For Use With Ration Book Four
Illustration of a family kitchen counter with canned goods, a ration book, and a pencil — a wartime homemaker planning the week's marketing.

Friend & Fellow American — this worksheet will help you plan a week of marketing inside your household's point allotment. Every point you spend wisely is a point that helps a soldier eat, helps a sailor steam, and helps a neighbor down the street. Sit a moment with the family list. Check off what you'll buy. Watch the meter. When you're satisfied, take your receipt to the grocer — and accept our thanks on behalf of a grateful nation.

1 Verify Your Household

Indicate the number of ration-eligible persons living under one roof and sharing one larder. (Infants under 6 months excluded; lodgers included if they take meals at your table.)

Click any line to add it to your basket. Click again to remove. Items marked NO POINTS are unrationed — eat hearty of them and stretch the budget further. A pound of cabbage today is a pound of victory tomorrow.

★ The Homemaker's Pledge ★

“I pay no more than the ceiling price. I accept no rationed goods without giving up ration stamps. I spend my points, my time, and my care so that the men overseas may eat.”
